What are restriction polymorphisms?
Restriction polymorphism, in principle the polymorphism generated at / between the the restriction sites (eg., ALPs: Amplicon Length polymorphisms; RFLPs: Restriction Fragment Length Polyjmorphism) in the genome. This database contains polymorphic data generated by restricting EST derived PCR products. Therefore it is considered to be the polymorphism at functional region.
PCR-RFLP in Arabica genotypes
Analysis of 69 expressed sequence tag sequences (ESTs) have resulted
to the detection of 4 new SNPs in arabica varieties and 30 polymorphic
restriction pattern in other wild species, which intern could be used
as potential markers for genotyping and genetic dissection of complex
traits and disease. The picture explines the flow of PCR-RFLP procedure followed.
